The crowd trudging through the soaking rain to St Anne’s Hall was nothing in comparison to John Dikes story about Shackleton’s Antarctic adventure.

We started in 1914 and finished in 1922, amusing at times, desperate ‘nail-biting’ and ‘edge of the seat’ at others.  Film and photos from the expedition completed a captivating look at exploits of a polar explorer.
