Phil Badcott our Society member, speaker and author started a Local History Club with the support of other very knowledgeable Society members.  What a success!

The club meets at the very welcoming and comfortable Precinct Centre in St Marychurch on the second and fourth Thursday afternoons of the month from September to March starting at 2.30pm.  The entrance fee is only £1. 

The purpose of the club is to learn about the history of St Marychurch and Babbacombe and the wider local area through discussions, reminiscing, and short talks by our members about local history themes.  We also hope to collate what we have learnt and place in the society’s archives, on its website and newsletter.
